Motorola Edge 70: Specifications and Features
The biggest highlight of the Motorola Edge 70 is its ultra-slim design. The phone measures just 5.99mm in thickness, making it one of the slimmest smartphones available. It is only slightly thicker than the iPhone 17 Air (5.64mm) and the Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8mm). Despite this, the Edge 70 weighs just 159 grams, making it lighter than both competitors.
Thanks to its slim profile and lightweight build, the Motorola Edge 70 offers excellent comfort and ergonomics. The phone feels easy to hold and is barely noticeable in pockets, making it a great option for everyday use.

The Motorola Edge 70 also covers the essentials when it comes to durability. The device comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it fully resistant to water and dust. It also carries MIL-STD-810H certification, which means the phone has been tested to handle drops, shocks, and tough environmental conditions. While often highlighted as a marketing feature, this certification does add extra confidence for everyday use.
Powering the Motorola Edge 70 is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. While it may not be the most powerful processor in its price segment, it delivers smooth performance for daily usage, multitasking, and even graphics-heavy games when optimised properly. The phone also includes an advanced vapour chamber cooling system, helping it maintain stable performance during long gaming sessions without overheating.

On the AI side, the dedicated AI key integrates with the chipset’s on-device intelligence, enabling access to Moto AI 2.0, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and Perplexity for a more flexible AI experience. This combination should make the Edge 70 a reliable performer overall, even if it does not lead in benchmark numbers.
The Motorola Edge 70 features a strong camera setup for its segment, with three 50MP AI cameras. The rear features a 50MP OIS main camera paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera that also doubles as a macro shooter, while the front camera is 50MP and supports up to 4K 60fps video recording. You can check out the cameras in action in the gallery below:

You also get a bunch of AI-assisted tools like AI Video Enhancement, AI Action Shot, AI Adaptive Stabilisation, and AI Group Shot, along with Google Photos features such as Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Magic Editor for editing. If you want to know how this hardware actually performs, you can check out the detailed camera analysis in our in-depth review of the Motorola Edge 70.
The Motorola Edge 70 gets a lot of its day-to-day appeal from its battery and display package. Despite its ultra-thin profile, it packs a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery that is claimed to deliver up to 40 hours of use on a single charge under ideal conditions. You also get 68W fast wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and even reverse charging support, so topping up or powering accessories is fairly convenient.

On the visual side, the phone features a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. Motorola also claims a high peak brightness of 4,500 nits, which should help with outdoor visibility, while the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio aim to round out the multimedia experience.
The device runs Hello UI based on Android 16 out of the box and is promised to receive 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches, which is about standard for this price segment. With all the specs and features out of the way, it now comes down to one question:
Should you buy the Motorola Edge 70?
Yes, the Motorola Edge 70 is a great pick if you care most about comfort and design. It is exceptionally slim and lightweight, has a vibrant display, decent performance, all-day battery life with fast charging, and cameras that are good enough for everyday use. However, there are some drawbacks, as noted in our review. The phone’s audio output is not great, and the speakers sound flat, while videos occasionally turn out choppy, which can be a bummer if you shoot a lot of content.
If ergonomics and comfort are not top priorities, there are better alternatives at a similar price, such as the OnePlus Nord 5 (review) and Motorola’s own Edge 60 Pro (review), which offer stronger overall value. The Edge 70 is best suited for users who prioritise ergonomics and a lifestyle-focused phone over raw power and maximum value for money.
